Christopher C. Garitee is the Senior Litigation Attorney at Cabanillas & Associates, where he has served since January 2020. He is admitted to practice in New York (2014), the Southern District of New York (2015), the Eastern District of New York (2020), and Texas (2024), with admission to the Connecticut bar pending.


Mr. Garitee leads a broad civil litigation practice, handling real estate and partition actions, contract and commercial disputes, federal matters, foreclosure defense, trials, and appeals. He has secured numerous high-value judgments in both state and federal courts, delivering successful outcomes for the firm’s clients through strategic advocacy, complex motion practice, and courtroom experience.


In addition to litigation, Mr. Garitee supports the firm’s immigration and family law departments by handling Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (“SIJ”) cases. SIJ, created by federal statute in 1990, allows immigrant children who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned by a parent to pursue lawful permanent residency in the United States. As the son of an Italian immigrant, Mr. Garitee takes pride in helping vulnerable children on their path to citizenship.


Mr. Garitee earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science, cum laude, from the State University of New York at Cortland and his Juris Doctor from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, CA, completing his legal education in Nice, France.


Mr. Garitee is an active member of the legal and local community. He previously served on the Village of Tuckahoe Zoning Board of Appeals and the Westchester County Bar Association’s COVID-19 Landlord-Tenant Council. He is the founder and president of the Westchester County Chapter of the Republican National Lawyers Association and was a candidate for Westchester County Legislator in 2019. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Order of the Sons of Italy, and the Westchester County Bar Association.


Outside the courtroom, Mr. Garitee is a competitive endurance athlete who travels nationally and internationally for Spartan Races and similar obstacle course events. His longest race to date is a 33.5-mile Spartan Ultra.
