Litigation Paralegal 

Location: Cabanillas & Associates, P.C. - White Plains, NY

Description: We are seeking a highly motivated, bilingual paralegal for our Litigation Department in White Plains, New York. This is a full-time position. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting attorneys in the preparation of pleadings, motions and stipulations for court filing as well as correspondence with clients, adversaries, and courts.

  • Organizing and tracking the status of cases, and assisting in the management of attorney court appearances and motion calendars.

  • Completing intakes and interviews with clients and providing friendly customer service.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Two or more years experience working as a paralegal.

  • Knowledge of NY/NJ courts and court procedures a must.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills, ability to prioritize and work under a tight schedule, ability to multi-task, in-depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles, and the ability to analyze legal documents for accuracy.

Required Languages: English & Spanish (Proficiency in Spanish is a must.)


Matrimonial & Family Law Paralegal 

Location: Cabanillas & Associates, P.C. - White Plains, NY

Description: We are seeking a highly motivated, bilingual paralegal for our Litigation Department in White Plains, New York, specifically in the areas of Matrimonial Law and Family Law. This is a full-time position.

Real Estate Paralegal 

Location: Cabanillas & Associates, P.C. - White Plains, NY

Description: We are seeking a highly motivated, bilingual paralegal for our Real Estate Department in White Plains, New York. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities Include:

  • To assist attorneys in all stages of the real estate closings process, including but not limited to: preparation of contracts, riders, deeds, transfer documents, closing disclosures.

  • To review title reports and clear title issues.

  • To draft residential and commercial leases.

  • Ideal candidate has experience in bank/lender closings, co-op/condo closings, short sales, and/or multi-state (NY/NJ/CT) closings.

Candidate Requirements: 

  • Excellent writing and communication skills, ability to prioritize and work under a tight schedule, ability to multi-task, in-depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles, and the ability to analyze legal documents for accuracy.

  • Knowledge of ACRIS and deed transfer websites.

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of paralegal experience.

Bankruptcy Paralegals (3)

Locations: 

Description: We are seeking three highly motivated, bilingual paralegals for our Bankruptcy Department. One position is located in our White Plains (NY) office, one position is located in our Brentwood (NY), and one position is located in our Union City (NJ). All positions are full-time positions. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in client intake, Chapter 7 and 13 petition preparation, coordinating documents with trustee, 341 preparation with client, review of claims, objections to claims, motions to avoid liens, loss mitigation as well as correspondence with clients, adversaries, and courts.
  • Organize and track status of cases, and assist in the management of attorney court appearances and motion calendars.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate is energetic, flexible, professional, self-motivated, articulate, has experience in customer service, has attention to detail while balancing a sense of urgency and has experience working in a law firm environment.

  • Two or more years experience working as a paralegal.

  • Knowledge of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut bankruptcy courts and court procedures a must. 

  • Excellent writing and communication skills, ability to prioritize and work under a tight schedule, ability to multi-task, in depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles, and the ability to analyze legal documents for accuracy.
