FiOS1 NEWS: NY Lawmakers Pass State Dream Act

On January 23, 2019, New York lawmakers passed the Jose Peralta New York State DREAM Act.

The New York State DREAM Act makes state tuition assistance programs available to undocumented immigrants who attended high school in New York for at least two years and graduated or obtained an equivalency diploma and creates a "DREAM Fund" -- funded by private contributions -- to give scholarships to the children of immigrants.

Hear from Chris Cabanillas about how the Act helps both New York Dreamers and the state of New York in this FIOS1 News interview.
