Legal Tip of the Month: February

February is National Wedding Month, and while that might have you over the moon if you’re one of the lucky ones tying the knot, it’s also a good time to take a (small) break from romance and talk practical matters.

While prenuptial agreements may not be the easiest topic to raise with your future spouse, it’s still a topic worth discussing, and contrary to popular belief, it does not mean you don’t love each other—it just means you’re taking a realistic view on things, and you want to make sure you’re each provided for in a fair way should the worst happen.

Prenups don’t just split up assets, by the way (although they do that, too). They are also used to appropriate debt, to protect assets, to provide for children and stepchildren, to make decisions about pets, and more.

If you’re thinking you should get a prenup but unsure of how to get started, call us at 1-800-LA-FIRMA or book your free consultation here and we’ll walk you through it.
