Moises DeJesus

Moises De Jesus is a Law Clerk at Cabanillas & Associates, P.C., where he works in the Foreclosure Defense Practice Group. Mr. De Jesus earned his B.A. in Political Science and Spanish Literature from the University of Rochester in 2004.  Upon graduation he worked for the New York State Attorney General’s Office in its Consumer Fraud and Protection Bureau.

In 2005, Mr. De Jesus began working as a Paralegal, assisting in representing institutional lenders in all aspects of the mortgage banking industry and residential foreclosures. Mr. De Jesus brings more than 10 years of experience in the mortgage banking industry and in residential foreclosure litigation.

Mr. De Jesus continued his education and attended the University Of Detroit Mercy School Of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate in 2010 and is currently seeking admission to the New York State Bar.  Mr. De Jesus also volunteers as an Executive Board Member of R.A.I.N. Total Care, Inc., a non-for profit organization that provides assistance to the elderly population in the Bronx, New York.

Isabel Martinez

Isabel Martinez has served as Law Clerk at Cabanillas & Associates, P.C. since 2011, initially working in the firm’s Loan Modification Department and more recently in the Consumer Bankruptcy Department and Foreclosure Department. Her work is concentrated in complex bankruptcy cases in both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 proceedings. Ms. Martinez earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political and Social Sciences and Juris Doctor from the Universidad Libre de Colombia in 2001. She graduated with her LLM from Brooklyn Law School in 2016 and is currently seeking admission to the New York State Bar.

In Colombia, Ms. Martinez practiced law including civil cases related to real estate, foreclosure defense, personal injury and family cases. She also conducted legal and social research in the Honorable Senate of the Republic of Colombia to help support law projects presented to the country’s Congress, many of which became Colombian law. Prior to joining Cabanillas & Associates, P.C. she concentrated on immigration matters and uncontested divorce cases at a Queens-based law firm.
