Bankruptcy Attorney  

Location: Cabanillas & Associates, P.C. - Union City, NJ

Description:

The largest law firm that specializes in Foreclosure Defense and Bankruptcy throughout NY, NJ and CT is seeking a highly motivated Bankruptcy Attorney (bilingual a plus) to lead the NJ Bankruptcy Department in Union City, NJ.

Consumer Bankruptcy law firm is seeking an attorney with at least 3 years of consumer debtor representation. Ideal candidate is organized, efficient, detail oriented, and communicates with clients and colleagues effectively. The position involves significant client interaction and client representation before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Thus, our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling all aspects of Consumer Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy from start to finish. Candidate must be comfortable with court appearances and/or client consultations.

Requirements:

1) Must be in good standing and admitted to practice in NJ

2) English/Spanish bilingual is preferred

3) Ability to handle the cases from inception through discharge and work independently

4) Must be organized and self-motivated

Foreclosure NY/NJ Attorney:

Location: Cabanillas & Associates, P.C. - White Plains, NY

Description: 

We are seeking a highly motivated Spanish-speaking Foreclosure Defense and Consumer Bankruptcy Associate Attorney admitted in NY and NJ for our Litigation Department located in White Plains, New York. At least 2-3 years experience in representing either banks or borrowers in Foreclosure cases, including foreclosure settlement conferences, case management conferences and mediations. Must be capable of handling all aspects of foreclosure defense litigation. Must be able to prepare pleadings, motions, and briefs as needed. Responsibilities will include interpreting laws, legislation or regulations, analyzing data, legal questions and existing evidence or facts and drafting legal documents. Must be able to direct cases through litigation cycle, review new files for coverage, and develop a cost effective defense strategy. Candidates must possess extensive experience in all areas of the foreclosure defense/real estate process and be able to attend Court as necessary. Must be a team player, reliable, have interpersonal skills and demonstrate abilities to work directly with clients, develop and execute service strategies, and work under pressure.

Criminal NY/NJ Associate Attorney 
 

Location: Cabanillas & Associates, P.C. - White Plains, NY

We are seeking a highly motivated Spanish-speaking Criminal Defense Attorney, admitted in New York and New Jersey. You must have at least two years' experience and be able to zealously represent Hispanic clients in misdemeanor and felony matters brought in Criminal, Supreme Court and any concurrent matters including violation of probation hearings, violation of protective order hearings, DWI/traffic violations and hearings with the Department of Motor Vehicles within the New York metropolitan area. Attorneys must be able to work closely with social workers and investigators as part of their representation, as well as collaborate with Family Defense and Civil attorneys on matters stemming from involvement in the criminal justice system.

The applicant must demonstrate a commitment to public defense work, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a collaboratively and interdisciplinary setting, and have excellent research, writing and advocacy skills. Criminal Jury trial experience is preferred.
